These four healthy Bearded Collie puppies are a fine example of assisted reproductive technology. The female only cycles once a year, and had missed a cycle due to poor semen quality. Instead of waiting another year, she was hormonally induced to cycle 3 months from her previous heat. Her ovulation was then timed using progesterone testing, and 4 days after ovulation frozen semen was used for intra-uterine surgical insemination
